Three months of Nightcups, 11 tournaments, and everything built from scratch in Battlefield 6 Portal. From custom competitive modes and handcrafted maps to testing multiple tournament formats, 2025 marked the first major phase of Nightcups — made possible by an incredible community and an even more dedicated team.
As 2025 comes to an end, we want to take a moment to look back at what has been an exciting first phase for our competitive ecosystem.
Over the past three months, Nightcups have brought teams together, tested new ideas, and laid the foundation for what’s coming next.
This article is a recap of what we achieved together — and a big thank you to everyone involved.
Our Nightcups initiative officially wrapped up its first three-month phase, delivering consistent competitive action and giving teams a place to play, improve, and compete week after week.
During this period, Nightcups became primary testing ground for:
And the response from the community exceeded our expectations.
Here’s a snapshot of what we achieved during this first phase:
Every mode and map was designed, configured, and tested by the Nightcups team specifically for competitive play.
Throughout the Nightcups, we ran five distinct modes, each bringing a different competitive dynamic:
This variety allowed teams to specialize, adapt, and showcase different skill sets — while also helping us evaluate which modes work best in a competitive environment.
Every mode and map played during Nightcups was built entirely from scratch using Battlefield 6 Portal.
While Portal offers powerful tools, it also comes with its own technical limitations and challenges. Nothing was “plug and play.” Custom logic, spawning systems, rulesets, balance, and stability all had to be designed, tested, and refined manually.
In a very short time frame, the Nightcups team planned, built, tested, and delivered:
Making all of this work reliably across multiple tournaments and formats in such a short period of time was a massive effort — and the team delivered an insane amount of work.
This first phase wasn’t just about playing — it was also about learning.
We actively tested multiple tournament formats, including:
Each format provided valuable insight into pacing, fairness, scheduling, and overall competitive experience. These lessons will directly influence how future tournaments are structured.
None of this would be possible without you.
To every team that registered, every player who competed, every captain who organized their roster, and everyone who shared feedback — thank you.
These first three months were just the beginning. The experience, data, and trust built during this phase will help us push Nightcups even further.
We’re excited for what comes next — and we’re glad you’re part of the journey.
See you in 2026.
And as always, see you on the battlefield.
