Faceoff: Our New Competitive Game Mode

We’re bringing something fresh to the Battlefield scene – introducing Faceoff, a brand-new game mode built for fast-paced action, tournaments, and players who want to prove their skill.

Faceoff delivers tight 2v2 and 3v3 rounds on small, custom-built maps.
It’s quick, competitive, and all about raw gunplay – perfect for community events and competitive matches.

Why Faceoff?

We designed Faceoff to put gun skill and teamwork at the core of every match.
Inspired by CoD’s Gunfight, it starts with familiar round-based rules – but we’re adding our own Battlefield twist with more freedom and unique map design.

Fast-paced rounds on custom small maps,
Weapon-category formats (Faceoff: Assault Rifles, Faceoff: Snipers),
A mode made for tournaments, scrims, and competitive play.

Formats

For now, we’re keeping things focused with two core formats:

Faceoff: Assault Rifles – mid-range firefights where positioning wins,
Faceoff: Snipers – long sightlines and high-stakes precision.

Additional formats like SMGs or mixed loadouts may arrive later as the mode evolves.

Custom Maps

Faceoff will be played on custom-designed maps, created specifically for short, intense matches.

We’ll continue adding more maps to this article as they’re created.
Each new map will also be featured in our Strategy Center, complete with experience codes so you can jump in and try them yourself.

What to Expect in Tournaments

2v2 and 3v3 formats,
Round-based, no respawns,
Quick matches – perfect for brackets and fast-paced events,
A map pool that evolves over time,
Different Faceoff weapon formats depending on the event.
